    Since ecotourism means traveling responsibly there are many potential benefits of ecotourism that one can get and there will also be many improvements to the environment as also to the local economy. There is a wide gamut of possibilities that range from resorts catering to the sensitivity of the ecosystem as also stand-alone activities, a number of destinations all across the world are offering solutions so as to reduce the harm that we are doing to the environment and which at the same time provides tourists with enjoyment as well. This was true of our trip to Malaga, Spain recently. This is perhaps the biggest benefit of ecotourism and which makes ecotourism a worthwhile experience.

    Adventure travel is a fairly new concept as far as vacation planning and is becoming quite popular in the tourism industry. This phenomenon goes back approximately fifty years originating from traditional vacation travel shifting to the outdoors. Traditional travel vacations can certainly be recreational, but adventure travel takes that recreation to the next level offering adventurists the opportunity to enjoy activities such as backpacking, rock climbing or diving.

    Perhaps the key benefits for an ecotourism destination are increased economic activity and additional employment opportunities that result from an increase in visitors. But in order to realize these benefits, local populations must have planned well and marketed well, to attract the tourist who will spend money while helping to preserve local culture and environment.
