I've been noticing a lot of homes lately that were not built to take full advantage of the lot upon which they were built. The resale value is damaged by this. It really beats the heck out of staring at a neighbor's house. But whoever made the house really did blow it.

Austin, TX Street Names - Should a Politically Incorrect Street Name Affect Home Value?
We are purchasing some acreage lots in Oak Hill, and I just realized that other buyers on my street don't like the street's name on which our lots are located and have asked the developer to rename it. The street has a really cool name--Sisquoc. Sisquoc is a Chumash Indian (from California) name that loosely means "stopping place." There is a Sisquoc River in California. The developer told me that some of the buyers believe it is too hard to say and spell. The street is now being renamed to "San Lucas."
