The internet is rich in scams these days. I guess we can just add this one the list This is an article alerting the public of the latest internet scam I came encountered on my search for a legitimate marketing schema. I came across the website www.zwoops.com who (like so many others) promised traffic for a price. The first thing I did was research them on Google, Yahoo and MSN. I didn’t find much, so I assumed 1 of 2 possible things where true: 1) they are new and have not been reported as being a scam. 2) They are Legit and no one has complained. I even goggled "zwoops.com is a scam" to see if anyone had written in disgust. I even wrote Zwoops.com, and asked what kind of traffic I would be getting. they replied with a very short, one line email stating that the traffic is geographically located, not targeted. Sniff….sniff…sniff….I smell a scam. I was skeptical, but decided to order their smallest package (about $20) and give them a fare chance. Here are my results: Two days after ordering I started to receive a steady flow of about 1500 visitors a day. Zwoops.com gave me an account to monitor the traffic I received from them. I also had my own software installed on my website, and I was using Google analytics as well. Now, Zwoops was telling me I was receiving about 500-1000 visits a day, but my software indicated over 1500 a day. I figured it was extra or returning traffic, and I was very happy. At first glance Zwoops.com looked legitimate. I was a little excited that I was able to find a good company online. My software indicated that most of the traffic was coming from links and banner adds, as Zwoops had indicated their website would generate. To be more specific, ads.k8l.info / referral and banners.searchingbooth.com / referral where showing up a lot. Another note is that most of the traffic was indeed unique, coming from multiple different IP’s. (Yet another good factor) I then, however, started to use Google analytics, which allowed me to access one vital piece of information that I hadn’t even thought about monitoring; TIME SPENT on my website. I found out that the average ‘person’ from ads.k8l.info / referral spent a grand total of 1 second on my site. And the ‘people’ from banners.searchingbooth.com / referral spent a whopping .05 seconds on my site. So I have 1500+ visits a day...each spending between .05-1 second of time on my website (not even enough for it to load fully) and I started thinking...no one surfs the web like that. My conclusion: Zwoops.com has one or many bots on multiple IP address, constantly loading and dropping pages and reporting them as ‘hits’. Sad, but very common. Congratulations Zwoops, you’ve just been added to the same list I keep my Viagra spam emails on...JUNK. A worthless use of internet space, and I hope this article reaches people before they buy from Zwoops.com. DO NOT buy traffic from Zwoops.com, they are scamming you. How this is legal is beyond me.
