What Do You Think Airbrush Tanning Is?

You may think this story about my unbelievable tanning experience is quite entertaining. I will agree with you, but have to tell you that it did take me quite some time to get to that point. For a very long time I was quite embarrassed about the entire situation. I was also upset at myself for not taking the time to ask any questions as this would have clearly let me know what I was in for. It is very likely I would not have booked my appointment for this procedure if I had all of the facts before hand.

Airbrush tanning does involve your body being sprayed with a very safe type of color. It will continue to get darker after about 24 hours. The results will last an average of seven to ten days. You will get the longest results if you exfoliate before you arrive for your tanning session. In my case, this is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted to hurry and have a nice looking tan before heading out of town for a few days of vacation.

I had read some information online about this, or so I thought. I had imagined that this process would involve me stepping into a booth and being sprayed with the tanning solution. Since it was to last for seven to ten days I would be all set for the duration of my travels. When I made the appointment over the phone all I was told was to wear an old bra and underwear if I wasn't planning to tan in the nude.

I was told to wear old undergarments if I wasn't going to get the airbrushing done on my entire body. So this is what I had on when I found out a technician working there was going to be coming in the room with me to apply the tanning solution to my body. I am sure you can imagine my surprise and my horror at this prospect.

I was standing there in a stretched out bra and panties with a hole in the side when there was a knock on the door. In walked a nice gal that was going to be doing the procedure. That's right, she was going to use some basic tools to airbrush the tan on me. She had a small air compressor and what looked like a miniature paint gun. I was really surprised and almost laughed out loud at the sight.

The entire process only lasted about 15 minutes. Yet as you all know, time can seem like eternity when you are in a situation that doesn't sit well with you. I think I would have rather spent that afternoon at the dentist than at the tanning salon. When she asked if I would like to schedule another appointment I told her I would call, but of course I didn't.

She may have wondered why I didn't. It was nothing to do with the service or the quality of the tan I got from it for several days. It had to do with my own feelings of being uncomfortable in such a setting. I definitely think they should have more information about what airbrush tanning is all about. Yet I definitely should have spoken up and shared my thoughts about it.

I learned quite a valuable lesson that day though. I learned that things aren't always what you think they will turn out to be. It is best to have all of the information even if you think you don't need it. I certainly wouldn't have done the airbrush tanning based on the facts. While I can chuckle about it now, I was certainly very uncomfortable about it at the time.
