I read many different homeschool reviews before I made the decision to homeschool my children. It was by reading about different parents' experiences that helped me see the freedom you have when you can expand your child's curriculum beyond the four to five mandatory core subjects. Of the homeschool reviews I read, one of the more interesting ones was about a mother who integrated a home-based business into her child's education. As she reflected on her homeschooling experience, she said that her child was intellectually well-rounded thanks to this learning. She believed it helped give her child the skills need to thrive in an ever-changing economy. Job security is becoming rare. The enduring mentality is that after you go through college or trade school, you can expect to get a job right away. Most people believed that once you got the job, you tended to stay there. However, this hasn't been the case for most people in this day and age. In the homeschool reviews that I read, this type of education was chosen to help children get the best education possible. The best education is the goal in a homeschool setting, but it also helps children become more confident and successful. In public and even private schools, children usually aren't even exposed to business courses--never mind the concept of starting your own business. This homeschooling mother recognized this. If you want to be a mom who works from home and homeschool too, you can do it; and maybe even more efficiently with help from your children. You can teach them how to start up and maintain there own home-based business. This was truly interesting. Imagine not only earning extra money through your home-based business, but watching as your child saves up for his or her future. The money is a perk, but consider the invaluable lessons learned along the way. Imagine having a child who knows how to budget her money, understands how business taxes work, knows about advertising and relegating tasks to others? All of these lessons will give your children the skills for building their own financial security, skills that will be with them forever. I would have never thought about coming across homeschool reviews that teach your child to run their own business. Your child could have a great idea of marketing some type of product or solution that could take off. I think it's a great idea to have your child understand the terms of a free market economy. After assigning your child to research the product, they could develop marketing strategies. They could also learn about the competition that is out there. I agree with the homeschooling mother who discovered that learning how to run a home business is a great way to supplement homeschool curriculum.
