What To Look For In A Ringtone

It can be confusing to understand some of the terms concerning ringtones and mobile phones. Terms such as monophonic or even TrueTone both describe a type of ringtone, and getting a mobile phone without knowing what ringtone terminologies mean can be fairly crippling for the mobile user in the long run.

Lastly, we have the TrueTone ringtone type. TrueTone is the final stage in the ringtone family, and it can reproduce real songs in distinctive quality. Any mobile phone that plays MP3 ringtones will likely be using TrueTone technology. Most of the later mobile phones will have support for all three types of ringtones as previously mentioned, although older ones will likely not have support for TrueTone capability.

The ringtone industry has evolved much more than some would give credit to. Some forms of ringtones, such as the "Mosquito Ringtone," allows users to play a ringtone that only certain people can hear. This high frequency will commonly only be heard by youth- adults will be less likely to hear it as a result of natural hearing loss. Even those in their 20's may find it hard to hear the tone.

As the ringtone continues to evolve, it is completely likely that the mobile phone industry will be able to use sound files directly from computers. In most mobile phones, a certain file type is needed before one can play a ringtone correctly. As mobile phones allow for more storage, speed, and memory- having a library of ringtones in their original format will be more than possible. In fact, some mobile phones are already starting to make use of such technologies, such as the line of Smart Phones being developed and used today.

The ringtone and mobile phone industry have come a long way since only a decade ago, when ringtones were more of an interesting parlor trick than an actual form of entertainment. As the mobile phone industry continues to grow and develop its technologies, it won't be long before mobile phones will replace MP3 players completely, and sport enough power and speed to act as full fledged media players. Until this day comes, one can still invest in a Smart Phone or equivalent mobile phone, which already sports such features but at high prices.
