How long has affiliate marketing been around? Forever, it seems. It hasn't always been called affiliate marketing. Just about every kind of marketing out there uses the concepts used in affiliate marketing. It is similar to MLM in a lot of ways, but fortunately you do not have to buy a monthly product in order to collect commissions like you do with MLM

Affiliate Marketing doesn't require you to buy a monthly product in order to make money. That is perhaps the number one killer of MLM, and the fact that most people who join MLM companies do not even like the products they are selling. Affiliate Marketing how-ever, does have other set backs. You are in competition with others, sometimes a lot more people than you would like to think. How successful you are is determined by the amount of hard work you are willing to put forth, and the size of your wallet book. To this date, I have yet to have bought an e-book or a tool that didn't require you to buy another tool and another e-book to be successful. If you use magazine ads, they can start as low as $3.500 for a half and go page ad and go up from there.

Affiliate Marketing and MLM share other things in common. With both you can use auto-responders, mail out post cards, Fax Blast and the list goes on.

Another thing you must do to increase your revenue quickly is to get more links on the Internet that point to your website. The reason this is important is because the more links you have, the higher your web page will be returned in the rankings, and the more traffic you will receive because of it. Also, when you have links scattered about the Internet, more people will run across your link and pay your website a visit. You can have your link included on other websites, in forums, blogs, ezine articles, and basically in any part of the web you can think of where another website will post it.

Back links are the affiliate marketers road to success if you own your own website, you can do this affectively with the right software, the one I use, submitting articles. What this affectively does is raise your rankings in the Search Engines. If every article you write is submitted to 1,000 directories you can see that the links will start coming in in no time. You write your article using the keyword you want to get ranked for and walla...

Do your visitors have enough information about your product when they come to your site?Do you want to have to answer questions by email? Keeping it simple is the key here. On the other hand, you do not want to go to the other extreme and put your customer to be information overload. Tip, if it takes the potential reader30 minutes to read the site it is too long. You can sell ice to an Eskimo without leaving them in limbo on what you are trying to sell them.
