Do you have what it takes to offer an amazing coffee shop? It doesn't take too much to make it happen, but you have to be dedicated to having a complete picture for everyone to enjoy. Think of it like a puzzle that has a lovely picture when you complete it. Yet if you have pieces missing it won't be the same to look at. This is how your customers will view your coffee shop so make sure all of those pieces are securely in place. The most popular time for it though is in the morning before people go to work. If you aren't opening the doors of your coffee shop around 5 am you are likely missing out on many potential customers. Think about the people that work around the coffee shop. For example if there are factories there may be people working late at night that want to access coffee during their shift as well. A great selection of products is important for a coffee shop. If this isn't in place people are going to get their drinks from some place else. They aren't going to come back and pay their money for something that they don't like the taste of. Keep them excited about your products. The prices you charge are important as well because consumers will be looking for value that is comparable with the quality of the coffee they buy. How fast is your service? Most people are very impatient and they aren't going to wait around very long for coffee to be served. It doesn't matter if they walk in or they are going through the drive up. They may accept an occasional delay but if you aren't operating with enough manpower to keep up with it all then you can be losing customers. Many people are on a time schedule as well and they can't wait even if they want to. How friendly is that service you offer them? It is very important because no one wants to be served coffee by a cranky lady. Your staff needs to be genuine in their interactions with customers. They also need to pay attention to their appearance. Hair should be combed off their face and their clothes should be neat and clean. What is your atmosphere like? Do your customers feel like your coffee shop is a place where they can hang out and relax? Some people feel comfortable enough in one to sit for a while and relax. Others visit with friends, return phone calls, or do their work. Yet they need to feel like they are wanted in the establishment. Attracting customers to your coffee shop is very important. You need to make sure they have a great experience whether it is the first time they have been in or the 100th. You need to treat every customer with respect and professionally. Keep in mind that you aren't the only coffee shop in town. Therefore you need to show your appreciation to them. This means going out of your way to offer them a pleasant experience. Find ways to really personalize your service. Continue to be consistent with your style so they will know what to expect when they come to your coffee shop. This way your business will always be the one they come to for their coffee needs.
