You have been with her for a long time. You have had fun and some very enchanting moments together. And now you want to take the relationship together. In short, you want to take her to be your wife. Familiar territory? This is the way most young (and even several old) men go. They call it proposing, or to make a proposal. If you are reading this, it is highly probable that you are on the verge of making a romantic proposal too. But, does the idea of marriage proposals scare you? To most men, it does. The fear of rejection, the fear of being ridiculed or laughed at, the fear of never being able to face the girl you love ever again because of the embarrassment, all this is too deterring. Such thoughts make most men lose their courage, and in some men, it can go to such an extent that they will never make perfect marriage in their whole life. However, if you play your cards well, there are all chances that your romantic ideas will work. Most people will suggest you to watch as many mushy movies as you can, and to read as many Mills and Boons as you can. All these are okay, they can pop ideas in your head, but they will not guide you through all the way. You cannot expect to be a Robert Redford just by watching his movie and be a winner at every proposal that you make, decent or indecent. But there are things that can make them work for you. The first, and most important, suggestion I will make to you is to be as genuine as possible. Do not try to imitate a style that someone else used. Proposal ideas work with some people, and they don't with some other people. You have to see what you are going to do suits your personality and style. This is what the girls actually like, being youself and not aping others. Since you are not going to put on an act for your entire life, it is best to be yourself when you propose to the lady. The second suggestion is to keep things simple. There is no point in confounding her with your tactics. Women like things to be as easy and as uncomplicated as they can be. The same works for the marriage proposal. For example, take her out to a decent restaurant, have a great conversation with her, see that she is really enjoying herself and then propose. This is a simple and an inexpensive plan, and most of the time it will work. Thirdly, you must do whatever you are doing with all earnestness. Make sure you have your heart really set into the proposition. Think in advance what exactly you are going to say to her. If you have not planned that out, you might stammer and slur, and this can put women off. When making a romantic proposal, it is very important that you are confident and sure of yourself. Use these three suggestions on this very important day of your life, the day when you are going to propose to the woman of your dreams. No romantic proposal can be a success without them.
