The Golden Era At The Other End Of $4/gallon Gas

By: GARKO

I managed to find somebody yesterday who is optimistic about the US economy! . He owns a print shop and has a masters degree in economic studies. And what he said did make sense to some degree. He says that the crash of the dollar means that the US can export goods again and be competitive and that this will usher in a new era of revitalized manufacturing in America and ultimately cause a financial boom. I don’t know if this is true. But it was nice to meet at least one sentient person who is also optimistic. And this kind of viewpoint really applies to other things too including the price of gas.
There is a particularly great advantage of the lofty price of oil which should be a cause of celebration amongst the environmental organizations: it is giving many people reason to look into other fuel sources, this is so much the case that the soaring price may open the door, finally for a tsunami of renewable fuel source projects that will, consequently, lead to a greater share of the market and perhaps the mainstreaming of alternative energy. This would be a great consequence.
Overall, the high price of energy is having some pretty bad effects -- but if it can help tilt the playing field to alternative energy, this silver lining could be an epic and historic shift.
The longer fuel prices remain high, the greater the significance of potential consumer shift. A 10% rise in gasoline prices lessens consumption by just roughly half a percent in the short term, but it can reduce demand much more substantially over a the long haul

As folks make major spending decisions, such as where they want to reside and what is the best vehicle for them to own, they are beginning to consider the price of gas into the equation. Some are selecting smaller cars or are moving closer to their jobs to lower driving.
The current situation "crisis" has halted or impeded many new subdivisons, high gas prices have restricted consumption and resulted in less purchasing of, and increasing construction costs are restricting new coal and gas refineries.
Meanwhile, a shift in government subsidies from the oil industry to alternative energy sources are creating a frenzy of new clean energy construction.
But the truly amazing aspect is that all that is going on while the real solution to reducing of gasoline usage and helping the environment through cleaner emissions is RIGHT HERE AT WATER4GAS
