If the treatment doesn‘t cure the infection on its own, ringworm shampoos and ringworm dips will assist the treatment, and help the infected area to heal quicker. Some other anti fungal agents are itraconazole and griseofulvin, which work well on a dog.

Keeping your pet in perfect health and guarded from fungal, viral and bacterial infections is your responsibility. The number one need of the pet is regular vaccines and proper care. Dogs need vaccines against provirus, distemper and rabies. Dogs also need to be checked annually for heartworm which can cause death to the dog if not correctly prevented. Remember that rabies vaccinations are administered every two years and distemper vaccinations are received annually.

Many conditions result in health issues, and in some breeds of dogs, the breed is prone to more health issues than others. Joint and heart problems account for some of these more serious health issues. When looking for a dog, you need to be wise to some of the health issues that can emerge in a dog’s life. Besides the everyday fungal infections and injuries from playing rough, some breeds are prone to ear infections, eye infections and mange.
