I think everyone would like to make money at home in a business of their own.

You might agree that it would be a great day when you could get up in the morning and not have to deal with the stresses of an idiot for a boss or the many hours you have to put in and not get paid what you are worth. This does sound great, but without the job, where's the financial security?

You have to wonder if there is really any job security?

I don't think there is real job security these days. I learned this not long ago when my father was let go from his employment. He had 25 years with the same company and found himself jobless just like that. They decided to downsize and his department was eliminated. They restructured the company calling his department by another name and hiring employees half his age. They could then pay them half the salary and work them twice as much.

It was a really hard 18 months of job searching and interviews before he found employment with a salary that wasn't nearly what he had been earning. There's not a lot of interest in a 55 year old in the workplace. With that experience, I decided I was never going be in that situation. I want to decide my own future and never let others have that power to decide for me.

Is this something you ever want to go through?

After doing my own searching I've found those that have real security make money online at home in their own web business. They were also able to build there long term financial wealth in their spare time.

If they can do it, so can you!

Everybody has their financial obligations and leaving a job and diving straight into a business to make money at home is just too risky for most.

The number one advantage of the Internet is the ability to make money at home and do it a little at a time.

Another really awesome advantage of the web is the ability to live anywhere and work on your business at anytime. It really eliminates all the potential limitations of succeeding.

An online business has many benefits that your traditional job doesn't. The one I like is the ability to make money at home and do it when I have the time to work. Especially when you are starting out and you haven't yet quit your job.

A warning though. You are going to learn how to be your own boss. What? Everyone is always talking about being their own boss like it's a dream come true.

I think that working for yourself is a great position to be in, but the downside is that you have to learn the skills to do this successfully. When you attempt to make money online at home you won't have anyone looking over your shoulder and telling you what to do. It might take some time to learn how to be a self starter and do it effectively. That's another reason why it makes sense to start this in your spare time and learn the ropes without risking your home.

Just remember you're most likely not going to make lots of money up front. I think a lot of people buy into the lotto mentality. They start a business and expect with a little work to strike it rich and live the good life forever. I'm sorry to say that it ain't going to happen. It takes work, learning, failing, adjusting and persistence. That's why you should stick with what's giving you your paycheck and keep building your business until you can finally quit and continue to make money at home in your business.

The first objection to this line of thinking is, " How can I build a business when I'm already working full time and have all the other responsibilities that consume all my time? I have the answer. Make the time!!!

What do you want to be doing and where do you want to be in 2,4 or 10 years from now? Believe me if you keep doing the same things you will be in the same situation forever. Change it now with some action. Go ahead and write down all you do and how long you spend on each thing you do. Keep track of this for 4 days. I bet when you analyze your results you'll find that you could give up something to start an online business and make money online. All you have to do is give up some TV time and you could easily free up the needed time to start.

If you really want to make money at home in a business of your own you can do it. Visualize where you want to go and go for it. Don't get stuck doing the same things and getting the same results.
