Often people get phone calls that have no caller identification information/name attached to them. Or maybe you get a person's first name and phone number, but forget their last name later. Looking up a phone number to get a name for it is simple, though.

The final way to search for somebody by phone number is to just call the number and see who answers. Often, somebody answer their home phones by saying their surname, such as “Hello, Johnson residence.” You could have your answer right there.
