Haunted Bed & Breakfast Locations

There are many things that guests are searching for the various bed & breakfast locations out there. One of them is that they are haunted which can often ensure the rooms are always full. No everyone out there believes in ghosts but staying in one of these locations where there are substantial claims about ghostly encounters can be very exciting to some individuals.

If you are interested in such an adventure you will find quite a few of these establishments out there. Some of them are at the actual site of events that remain in our history such as the Lizzy Borden Bed & Breakfast. It is said this is the actual home where her family was killed. If that doesn't appeal to you, what about the spirits of characters that seem to be sticking around?

Curiosity is what gets most people into these locations. They want to find out for themselves if there is something to the talk or not. They also want to be able to share this type of experience with others. They can say they have been there and either seen the ghostly encounters or they didn't feel like there was anything present there. That is the type of experience that one will find more fascinating if they experience it on their own.

There is the chance though that advertising your bed & breakfast as one that is haunted is going to keep some people away. Not everyone believes in such encounters or wants to be a part of them. They may avoid staying at your location for that reason. Yet the number of people who are quite impressed by it is far more so you should have a good operation in place.

The internet is the best resource for finding these locations out there. You may be able to get some inside information about them locally, but only once you are in that particular area. By then it will be too late to stay there due to other plans you have made and the reservations other people have secured at the bed & breakfast. Keep that information for future reference though as you can try to stay there the next time you are in town.

In Groveland, California the Groveland Bed & Breakfast is believed to have a miner as a ghost there. He died there one night after going to bed tired from a hard day of mining. This ghost is harmless but many guests have reported their items moving from one part of the room to the next. This is especially true of cosmetics that women use while staying there. He is also known to mess with light switches and even to turn on water in the showers from time to time.

The Notchland Inn located in New Hampshire seems to be the home of some good humored ghosts. Many guests have reported names or words written on the mirrors with either steam from the shower that they didn't turn on or in lipstick. They have also found flowers and other nice items in their rooms without any understanding of how they appeared.

Staying at a haunted bed & breakfast can certainly be entertaining. It can offer you a great element that you haven't had with your travels before. If you aren't comfortable with the thought of others around in this form though you should steer clear of such businesses. You never know when the ghosts there will decide to let their presence be known.
