If the management board of your school is a bit slow in catching up with changing technologies where distance learning is concerned, you can try and hasten them up. Distance learning can be made more easier with new technologies. Distrusting new technology can put your school behind other in distance learning success. Instructional television can be set up in such a way that the students of the class actually feel as though they are in a classroom. Some instructional media have the capability to simulate a real classroom setting. Always select distance learning media you know that you are comfortable with before you commit to the program. Distance learning or distance education is all about convenience. It is a practice or avenue that gives you the opportunity to school from home without actually going to the school. Many people practice it these days, especially those who are incapable due to a handicap or some other obligation that ties them down to their present location. Although distance learning has tackled a lot of problems in its long history, there is one problem that it is not going to deal with too soon. This is the issue of examination malpractices, or simply, writing tests under controlled conditions. If the teacher and student cannot be online at the same time, some form of asynchronous technology will have to be used to correspond. The important thing is that the teacher teaches and the students learn – everybody gets to play their own roles.
