This September, the Peanuts on DVD will be available to the public to add to their Peanuts collections. Everyone loves Charlie Brown, and the most famously loved holiday specials will be released together in a deluxe edition boxed set. The three holiday episodes on the Peanuts on DVD are Its The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving; and A Charlie Brown Christmas. Before the Peanuts on DVD, the great Charles Schulz wrote the gang as characters appearing as a comic strip that ran from 150 until the day after his death in 2000. Peanuts is considered to be one of the most popular comic strips of all time, with a whopping 17,897 strips to Schulz credit. Some fans that will be buying the Peanuts on DVD has called the comic strip the longest story ever told. Peanuts before DVD ran in 2,600 newspapers around the world, with 355 million people reading the strip in 75 countries with 21 different languages. The Peanuts reportedly made Schulz a billionaire, and helped to solidify the idea of the four block comic strip. Reprints of the Peanuts are still run in many newspapers today. Leading up to the Peanuts on DVD, Peanuts began in Lil Folks, a comic that Schulz wrote for his hometown newspaper from 1947 to 1950. Charlie Brown was indeed one of the characters, although in different strips Charlie Brown was the name given to four different boys at different times. Also in the early Peanuts version of the comic strip was a dog who strongly resembled the likes of the beloved Snoopy. In 1948, Charles Schulz sold one of his Peanuts cartoon strips to the Saturday Evening Post, Peanuts as we know it today first premiered in seven newspapers on October 2, 1950 and history leading up to the Peanuts on DVD had begun. Before Peanuts on DVD was ever imagined, and during the later years of the success of the comic strips, Peanuts achieved even more popularity with its successful television specials, many of which were nominated for or won an Emmy Award. A Charlie Brown Christmas, and Its the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown were both award winning television specials that are still aired every year during the appropriate season. The Peanuts on DVD gives us a digitally re mastered look into the lives of the beloved Charlie Brown and all of his friends in the gang. Peanuts has been described as the greatest success in the business of the comic strip that ever was. Charlie Brown is loved by millions, maybe billions of people, who feel sorry for the round headed little kid in the yellow shirt that has tried for decades to kick that football, but misses every time.
