Cash Gifting - The Way Forward

By: Kenneth Lowe

Over the past few years the activity of “cash gifting” has begun to increase in popularity. However cash gifting is nothing new, it has been around in its latest form for over fifteen years and in other forms for even longer. But there are so many misconceptions about it, is it legal? for one, is it moral? is it for me? So sit back relax and let’s explore this fascinating topic, because lets face it, Who would not like a packet of cash?
Individuals and private groups have long embraced cash gifting programs as legitimate methods of revenue generation. There is nothing illegal or immoral about giving another person a gift. It can be an expression of kindness or love to another, it could be viewed as a loan, in some cultures it is still seen as an obligation for one generation to assist another , for example with the purchase of property. Individuals are allowed to share their wealth with families, friends and other people. Helping others in this way is honourable and good.
Many cultures, especially Asian, Jewish and South American communities regularly provide gifts to others within their group so then they may start a business, buy a home or otherwise take care of themselves and their loved ones. Once the receivers of the gifts have solidified their own positions in this way, it is then their turn to give back (to pass back). One good modern example of private gifting is the organization Habitat for Humanity. From this case in point, it is easy to discern the various benefits that stem from cash gifting.
Cash gifting is a personal activity, it is not Network Marketing, MLM, Pyramid selling or any other type of business. These are a commercial activity, designed for profit usually within a company, having a board of directors, shareholders and principles Cash gifting is a private affair between like minded individuals or friends. It is simply a matter of individuals helping other individuals. The underlying concept is that by people helping other people in an organized fashion, lives can be enhanced.
American and Canadian citizens have the constitutional right to gift their property, cash and other assets to others. In the United States, gifting rules are defined in the IRS tax code, Title 26, Sections 2501 - 2502 and 2511. Look it up yourself if you have any doubts; it's 100% legal.
It is my understanding that the tax codes state that one individual can give to another individual up to a maximum of $11,000 per year without any party incurring a tax liability. The tax is deemed to have already been paid by the giver and because it is their personal asset no further need arises.
Cross cultural laws of reciprocity agree that to give is to receive. When an individual agrees to become involved with a cash gifting program, they become part of a natural progression. They provide a voluntary gift, and then they too wait to receive. And unlike MLM, there is no hierarchy, although there is organisation in that new members are invited to join the gifting program. There are no enticements, the gifts are voluntary and no promises are made that new gifts may follow. No one individual gains an advantageous position over another, as participants are all of equal standing and often the newer members overtake our elder participants.
If we take the view from another business model say any other internet based business available, it is common practice to advertise you business to obtain subscribers or interested parties to listen to your presentation of your particular business. Then they may decide to join your organisation. However they then may need to purchase a website, add stock, or add other associated services, advertising or leads. So the point to this comparison is simply people are concerned about the thought of cash gifting & the fact that there is a cost in providing the gift. But don’t you see there is always a cost associated with most opportunities, however with cash gifting everything is out in the open with nothing left to surprise you around the corner, which cannot always be said about other so called business models. Which would you prefer? Would you like a packet full of cash? With no potions or pills to peddle.

Yours In Success
