There are many computer schools in the United States that educate computer workers and this number has been escalating because of the need for expert Information Technology (IT) employees. Since there are many places of learning to choose from, it's worth it to take the time to decide on the computer school that is best. When searching for the top computer education, take into account the reputation of the school, the availability of courses, the type of studies, whether the courses cover the latest technology, the student to teacher ratio, and the graduation rate of the computer school. Most of this information can be found in leaflets, pamphlet, or the individual school's website. Even with all the information readily available it's still difficult to coordinate it to make relevant comparisons between schools and find your top computer school. To make this process a bit more fluid, certain companies produce yearly reports on the various schools and courses offered, then compile these results. The US News and World Report is one such consumer service that has surveyed more than 2000 institutions in 2006 and then compiled an index of the various student, degree, and course statistics. Based on their survey, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; Carnegie Mellon University; University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign; Princeton University; Cornell University; Rice University; University of Wisconsin-Madison; University of Pennsylvania; Harvard University; University of California-Los Angeles; Columbia University; Stanford University; the University of California, Berkeley; University of Washington; are some of the top institutions in the United States of America, in the Information Technology field. There are some distance education computer schools as well that offer certification, associate, and bachelors degrees in computer technology. To name a few: DeVry University, ITT Technical Institute, and the University of Phoenix. These online schools provide training on such individualized fields as Computer Graphics, Computer Training, Computer Science, Web Development, and more.
