A Day Out In Cobbitty

By:

If you are into wineries, then call into the Cobbitty Winery on Cobbitty Road, as you are driving into Cobbitty township. Run by the Cogno Brothers, Cobbitty Winery has an amazing array of flavoured liqueur wines. The Cobbitty Gold is a house special, and their Lambrusco is not to be missed. There are picnic facilities out back, so pack a barbeque lunch and relax with your friends, enjoying the wine you just bought. Don't panic, you can pop back inside and buy some more should you want some to take home!
Not too far from Cobbitty is the Vickery's Winery - just up the road in fact, at Bringelly on Old Northern Road. It also boasts several beautiful wines, so make a day of wine shopping in and around Cobbitty and stock up your cellar in one day... or one weekend! Others to call into include Belgenny Farm and Kirkham Estate, as well as Gledswood Homestead.
While you're up Bringelly way, a must-see is the Australian Koi Farm, with its millions of koi fish. You don't need to be in the market to buy a fish, just call in and watch them swim lazily - the perfect way to relax.

If you don't mind travelling a little further, then Scenic Hills Riding Ranch at Ingleburn is your place to be. 'Hire' a horse or go on a trail ride, and indulge your horse fantasies (what little girl has never harboured a secret desire to own a horse?). You can skip all the major roads, so your trip from Cobbitty to the ranch will seem like you never left the country. Speaking of country, Cobbitty and surrounds have some beautiful old heritage listed country homes to explore. Not all are open to the public so check beforehand, but several can be inspected after booking. More culture can be had at the Cobbitty Fine Art Gallery, where artwork from popular as well as less well known artists can be seen and purchased. Who knows, your unknown artwork might one day be worth quite a bit! Even if it's not, it is sure to make your home a little more country-fied, and serve as a pleasant reminder of Cobbitty and its charm.

Oran Park is close to Cobbitty, so look up the next race and call in for some hot action. Including a 4WD and training circuit as well as being a premier site for truck racing, Oran Park is a stone's throw of Cobbitty.

If travelling around and seeing sites is not really your thing, then relaxing in the lush countryside of Cobbitty might be more to your liking. With many quiet streets and places to rest, Cobbitty should be on your list of places to see and pause a while at.
