Rocker Bruce Springsteen just won the grammy for best rock song of 2007 with his tune “Radio Nowhere” which asks the musical question “Is there anybody alive out there?” This is a question that Bruce Springsteen has been asking in his concerts and such since the early 1990s. I guess that Bruce noticed that, outside of his performances where folks are still very lively, people appeared to have lost their soul. Must be especially difficult to be as dynamic, powerful and alive as Springsteen and be aware of the broad public who walk like zombies with vacant gazes in their eyes which anyone can observe if we go to a shopping mall or any place where a lot of people hang out. So I thought I might consider this interesting question in the context of the price of car fuel and other evils that most of us simply ignore. Recently, there was some media coverage of a video of a woman in Arizona being “raped without penetration” by male cops. Those were her words to describe how she felt. Cops showed up at her home she had called the police for help and ended up being arrested, stripped and left totally naked in a tiny cell with nothing to put on but toilet paper. You can see in the video that cops are ignoring that she is screaming to be left alone. Where was the outcry on this? How come you never heard about this until you read this article? How deep do we have to descend into degradation as a people where such abuse doesn’t get any attention and no outcry worth mentioning? And if we see that the public at large can’t get moblized over something that is such a crime like that, who is left that can get into action about fuel prices?. Except for one thing… it hits them right where it hurts… the the bank account balance! As with any bad situation in society, if individuals join forces and take action positive change can still be brought about. As regards gasoline prices the best approach is to drop out altogether. No, I don’t mean to walk and ride your bike to work as they do in Japan. I am here to tell you that you can convert your gas engine to hydrogen and never have to buy another gallon of gas again. Even if you just convert to a hybrid you will be saving up to 35% on gas consumption, maybe more. Also you will be empowering your vehicle to operate better, also you will be helping the environment to be cleaner and healthier for all of us to live in and you can have the reward of knowing that you are part of a revolution against the auto makers and the oil industry and you can say that with regards to the price of gas … “we ain’t buyin’ it anymore”
