Rock Star Bruce Springsteen just won the grammy for best rock song of 2007 with his tune “Radio Nowhere” which features the lyric “Is there anybody alive out there?” Springsteen has been asking this question in his live performances and such since the early 1990s. I guess that Bruce noticed that, outside of his concerts where his fans are very energetic, people appeared pretty well asleep. Must be particularly difficult to be as energetic, powerful and alive as Springsteen and observe people who walk like zombies with absent looks in their eyes which any of us can see if we go any place where a lot of people hang out. So I thought I might consider this interesting question in the context of the price of gas and other atrocities that many people don’t protest. In recent weeks, some media broadcasted a video of a woman in Arizona who was “raped without penetration” by male cops. That was how she said that she felt. Cops were dealing with her because she had called the police for help and instead they arrested her and she was, stripped and left completely naked in a tiny cell with nothing but toilet paper to wrap around herself. And in the video she is screaming to be left alone. Where was the protest on this? Why hadn’t you heard about this until just now? How far down the dwindling spiral have we come as a people where such abuse doesn’t get any attention and no outcry worth mentioning? And if we see that the public at large can’t get moblized over something that is such a crime like that, who is left that can get into action about gas prices?. Except for one factor… it hits them right where it hurts… the the bank account balance! As with any bad situation in society, if people combine and take action they can bring about change. As regards fuel prices the best approach is to drop out altogether. No, I am not recommending to walk and ride your bike to work like they do in Japan. I am here to tell you that you can convert your gasoline engine to hydrogen and never have to purchase another gallon of gasoline again. Even if you only convert to a hybrid you will be saving up to 35% on gasoline consumption, maybe more. Also you will be empowering your vehicle to function better, and you will be helping the environment to be cleaner and healthier for all of us to live in and you will have the reward of knowing that you are active in a revolution against the car makers and the oil industry and you can say that with regards to the price of gasoline … “we ain’t buyin’ it anymore”
